"Wha--what?" Tohru stammered, her eyes wide. What creature was Yuki's mother talking about? She couldn't possibly mean Ayame-san? Or maybe Tohru had mentioned Kyo...she couldn't remember if she had, but she knew that the Cat was not allowed in the Zodiac. As she thought these things, her emotions were flickering on and off as clearly as a movie screen.

Shigure watched Yuki for a second. With a slight whine he replied, "Well, okay. But you know that she won't believe me." Shigure really didn't want to go speak to that women again. Maybe he should just kick her out, after all this was his house. Sigh, he knew that that would only cause bigger problems.
Turing Shigure opened the door to walk out. Seeing Kyo standing outside the door he stopped and hesitated for a second. Clicking into action Shigure quickly said, "Kyo-kun, be a good kitty and run downstairs and tell Yuki's mom that he isn't here." After finishing Shigure immediately shut the door again. Turning back to Yuki, Shigure smiled, "Kyo-kun will take care of it." He knew that the last thing that Yuki's mother would want to see is Kyo and Kyo would probably be the last person to go down and tell her. Well at least it was buying him some time.

"You know," she stared at her tea, willing it to freeze under her cold and sharp gaze, "That snake. That terrible demon who doesn't take responsibility and doesn't belong. He's nearly as bad as that Cat."
---
Yuki smiled weakly, "Thanks. It's worth a shot." After Shigure closed the door he clapped his hands together and breathed in, "Right. Let's see what we can do about using these sheets to climb out that window. You stall, I'll make my way through the forest." Yuki was as good as his word. He started to rip the sheets off the bed, twisting them as tightly as he could. It wasn't very tight, to be fair, since he wasn't feeling very well.

Tohru swallowed. "Oh I-I see...I'm just surprised, well um...since..." Since he was her son. "I think that if you took the chance to get to know your son and Kyo-kun, n-not that you don't know your son, but Kyo-kun...he really is a wonderful person." She stared with wide eyed intensity at Yuki's mother, whose face was currently positioned towards her tea cup.
"Well!" Tohru said, desperately trying to change the subject onto friendlier topics. She very much wanted to give Yuki's mother a good impression of her. "I wonder what's taking Yuki-kun and Shigure-san so long."

Yuki's mother stared at Tohru for a while. Was this child taking sides with the Cat? Really? Chalking it up to immaturity, Yuki's mother paid far more attention to the next statement, "Yes, you're right. I wonder what on earth could be happening. It is very rude, isn't it, to keep a guest waiting? In that case," she set down her tea and stood up curtly, "I shall simply go see what the problem is." Making her way out of the dining room, she started for the hallway and guessed the direction of the stairs.

Tohru waited a few moments before deciding to follow Yuki's mother. After all, what if she got lost? What if she fell on the stairs and no one was there to help her (after all, Tohru had done that many times)? She hurried down the hall and nearly ran over Yuki's mother in her haste. "Eeh! Sorry!" she apologized quickly. "Yuki-kun's room is just up the hall, first to the left."

Yuki's mother didn't reply as she made her way up the stairs and to the door. She had the concede that the Tohru child was good for something---the hallway was clean.
[She WOULD open it if I didn't want to finish this scene in the room first. Shigure, where art thou? I shall go on a quest to make you post tonight.]

((Yay, I'm back! Saa, so busy. Hopefully I'll be able to post more often.))
Shigure watched Yuki as he made his sheet rope. Hmmm...stall. He really didn't want to speak to that women again. "Hmm, maybe I should climb out the window with you...to make sure you make it okay. You know, with you being sick and all... In fact maybe I should climb out first. To make sure that the rope is safe to climb down."

Yuki sniffed, "Yeah, right. Hold this." He handed Shigure one end of the rope and threw the other end out of the window. "Tie it to something or hold on tight, Shigure. I'm outta here before anything gets worse." He then put one leg out the window and looked to see if the dog was doing anything with the sheets.

Shigure looked at the sheets. Hmmm, someone would definitly be suspicious if they saw bed sheets tied to the bed and then he would be left to explain the situation. That's not a situation that he wanted to deal with. Shigure grabbed the sheets and decided that he would simply hold them. "Okay, ready."

((Oh, wow. You guys really WERE waiting for me. Heh heh...))
Yuki looked at Shigure suspiciously for a minute. Deciding that the frail author should be able to deal with his equally frail wait, he swung sluggishly out of the window. The breeze outside caught him by surprise, and he shivered his way down the house. About halfway his hands gave out on him (much to his frustration) and he fell about 4 feet to the ground. Landing on his side, he managed to fall safely, but it took him a few moments to stand up.
For one very brief moment, he thought that this might be a bad idea.
Then he remembered what the alternative was, and hurried into the forest. He'd hide out in his secret base and hope that Shigure could find some reason for his absence to make the mother go away.
((Shigure, if you wanna do something in between these two posts, do it. If not, then just...whatever.))
Yuki's mother opened the door as loudly as possible without it actually slamming into anything. Staring icily into the room, she breathes out, "Well? What have you done with my son?!"

Tohru peered around Yuki's mother, her eyes going to the bed. When she realized that Yuki was not in bed where she had last left him, she felt a wave of panic overcome her. "Sh-Shigure-san! Where is Yuki-kun?!" Her mind immediately thought of all the horrible things that could have happened to him, but none of them included the idea that he could have left or snuck out himself. Not kind, innocent Yuki! No, rather, what if he somehow fell out the window? What if Shigure had beaten him up (no, how could she think that, Shigure-san would never do that!) or what if...what if...
She paled visibly just thinking about it.

Shigure, hearing the door open, quickly dropped the sheet that he had been holding out the window. Looking over at the group that burst into the room he placed his arms behind his back and gave a false smile, "Oh my, it looks as though Yuki-kun has disappeared. He's probably out taking care things that need looking after. Well, we don't want to keep you here waiting so when he gets back I'll make sure to send you a letter. He'll be so sad when he hears that he missed you." Shigure glanced down at his none existant watch. "Well would you look at the time! I'd better get back to work with my deadline and everything." With that Shigure started to make his way by the small group at the door.
