OoC//: ~Squee~ So do I!!
Rei looked up, expression unchanging. Cold grey eyes stared at the girl in front of her, expresionless, devoid of any emotion. " Why do you ask, do work here? As a... maid or something?" She kept her voice at a monotone level, leaving her true gender disguised. She doesn't look familiar... Plus running into a maid right now is the last thing I need.

She inclined her head in a slight bow, hiding her surprise. "Actually...I'm looking for work," she said, surprised that the head of the household was so young. She assumed Sohma-san was a male, though there was something distinctly feminine to his features. "That is...I don't want pay. I just need...room and board, and in exchange I could work." She cringed, hating every second of this. She hated asking for help, and hated feeling like such a bother.

"Arrgh..." Legs crossed, foot shaking impatiently up-and-down, Kasumi couldn't stand it. What the heck were they saying? Finally, exasperated, the boar brought up her long digits to the window and set them lightly upon the little, easily-opened lock at the bottom of the no longer still-life painting. She flicked it casually, and commenced to crack it open for her listening entertainment. Unknowledgeable of one little part of the window, however, on it's way up, the glass squeaked. Out of instant reaction Kasumi ducked, unconcious of the brunette bangs that were easily spotted from the window. Smaaart...

((Eheh! I told Akito-sama I was going to post on 'Wasted Sunshine,' but I came here instead. XD This Role Play looks so interesting! And, it just so happens that I have a partially-developed next generation character for the Year of the Snake...Sohma Naru-chan! Somehow, though, I can't imagine Ayame having children...^-^; But, still, if he /did/ have a child, I'd be fairly confident he'd have a daughter like Naru-chan. So...Think I should join in?))

((Of course! <33 Do you think Kagura would have two children? Because it'd be fun to play Kasumi's brother...Though he wouldn't be Zodiac. Just a Sohma who knows the secret...But eh, don't want to be greedy >.> -shrug-))

((I think it would be perfectly acceptable for Kagura-neechan to have two children...Though, the brother would have to be older. What do you think, Tohru-chan?
Actually, I think I will join as Naru-chan. ^-^ She's fairly young (thirteen), so I think I'll have fun with her. She definately won't be the quiet, Kisa-type! XD I think I'll have her take rather after Ayame...Although, I should proably think up who her mother would be.
Huh...Perhaps Mine-chan? I always thought Ayame-san and Mine-chan would make a good couple...But, that doesn't work, because of the curse...-Sigh- So confusing...))

[ Don't you remember what Haru said when he was black once, "You can do it without hugging" AHAHH. Meaning kiddies!
I think it's fine to have two if you can handle that. ]

*Hasn't even read about the stupid curse yet* x.x' Well, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Bu I would very much like Naru and Kasumi to be friends ^^ You can keep that in mind if she needs a childhood companion or something...
Heh ^^;;; Oh, and of course the brother would be older =3 You can't have the usual ironic anime tone unless the brother is older! I read this avvie, I loved it:
"#1 rule in Anime:
Women hit harder then Villians"
I LOVE that! xD Gosh, I'm so cruel to my male characters...-sigh- ^_~
Oh, and I remember that Haru thing @.@ I wanted to step in there and slap him, saying something like 'BAD COW!' then conveniently step back out so he would hurt me >.< I'm still so cruel to male manga charries...But what am I supposed to do, slap Tohru for standing there? Or Kagura for bein' cool?

((Tee-hee! You're quite right, Tohru-chan! XD Or, rather, Haru-kun is right.
Hooray! It would be lovely for Kasumi-chan and Naru-chan to be childhood friends. ^-^
I will now post Naru-chan's introduction!
...Though, don't expect it to be uberly-good. XD))

A rather tall girl of thirteen years stood outside the junior high school, fingers twined around the straps of her plain grey backpack. Like the other students as this all-girl’s school, she wore the uniform—a one-piece thing with long sleeves, white in color, with a light brown bow at the front, and light brown trimming. The skirt part of the uniform was pleated, and came to about mid-thigh.
She wasn’t by any means, though, a ‘normal’ girl. You could see that by simply glancing at her. For one thing, her waist-length hair was /silver/ in color. Naturally. As if that wasn’t odd enough, her eyes were /gold/. Also naturally. If you were a Sohma on the ‘inside’ you wouldn’t find her looks all too odd. Silver hair and golden eyes were, after all, traditional traits for those bearing the curse of the Snake. She also had an unusually pretty, somewhat haunting look about her features, for her meager age--but, that was only to be expected. 'Beauty' /was/ one of the traits associated with the Year of the Snake. Of course, so was being vain. And procrastinating.
Sohma Naru, who was, indeed, the Juunishi’s snake, uncoiled one of her hands from her bag, and passed it over her forehead, brushing some long strands of hair away at the same time. She breathed out heavily, as she realized she was sweating. “Uh. I’d better get home, before I get /too/ hot.” She muttered to herself.
Like all of the Zodiac snakes before her, Naru was extremely susceptible to heat and cold—if she became too warm or cool, she would transform, taking the form of a small silver snake. (Since snakes are naturally prone to those elements, as well.) Which could be rather a problem.
That being the case, she was forced to wear an absurdly thick jacket in the winter, and carry an umbrella in the summer, even when it wasn’t raining—to protect her from the sun’s heat. Needless to say, this resulted in a fair amount of teasing by her peers. But, Naru tried to ignore this. It would be a lot of trouble, she knew, if she transformed in front of anyone but those who knew of her family’s curse.
She'd heard a lot about her father, Sohma Ayame. He'd also been the Juunishi Snake. She'd been told that he owned a fancy clothing store, along with her mother. She'd also been told that he'd also been unusually beautiful, with the same silver hair and golden eyes that she posessed. Apparently, he'd died of severe overheating. She supposed that this was also party due to their curse.
She slowly made her way back to the main house, and found the front gate mysteriously ajar. Blinking at it as she passed, she made her way to the house. Upon entering, she removed her shoes, and began to walk down the hall. On her way, she passed the open door to a particular room. "Kasumi-chan?" She questioned, stopping.
((Finished...But, it was rather choppy, as I took stuff from other places, and I have to go now, so I don't have any time to re-read it...Uh! Sorry...See you all later!))

"Work?" Okay, so not many people had come to the Sohma estates for work... Actuallly, perhaps they had, just none of them seemed to want anything to do with Rei. Over the past year she had worked herself up a bit of a bad rep. "You're coming to /me/ to ask for work? Who do you think I am? Some grungy headmaid?" By now she had leaned in to the girl's face, nose inches away from the girl's own. Her grey eyes stared in at the girl, menacing and cold.

She swallowed. Maybe she had come to the wrong person. "N-No, I don't think that at all," she said with alarm. "I thought maybe you..." she trailed off, her eyes filling with barely concealed tears. "I thought you had control over who worked here...I'm sorry for bothering you!" Obviously, she had inherited her mother's sensitivity.
