Hatori looked suprised for a moment, 'She couldn't possibly be thinking-? I'm losing my mind now, she can't possibly remember that.' He finally spoke again, "Kana-san, are you sure you're okay?" He asked politely.
She was worrying, he could tell by her expression. He didn't want her worrying over him, he couldn't bring hiumself to let her either. It would hurt her again and that was the last thing he wanted to do.

For some reason Kana could see just how much Hatori was worrying for her. And really it was surprising.
'I didn't know Sohma-san was so kind.' she thought to himself as she shook her head. "No, really I'm fine. You really don't have to worry Sohma-san. I'm sure what I heard was just my imagination."
Smiling now Kana nodded determined hoping still that she could stop Hatori from worrying. She couldn't say why but she hated the fact that he would worry at her. In fact it was alsomost like she thought that she caused him enough pain. But that couldn't be since she barely knew him.

Hatori was struck with stun still, but, he smiled faintly and told her in a kinder voice -must unusual for him-, "Alright. Well, how have you been?" He asked and for once did not feel like he was being rude.
He shiftly uneasily again, however, and feared that Akito would appear at any time. Or someone else would appear out of nowhere and scare them both. Just a simple conversation could end in tragedy for them all.

Hearing him use such akind tone Kana smiled. 'I didn't know Sohma-san could be so gentle.' she thought to herself smiling as she nodded to Hatori.
"I've been good. Reallygood actually. How about you? Have things been going well for you Sohma-san?" She smiled as she asked this truly seeming curious. And she was. Aftr all she was always the curious type of person. And besides Hatori seemed so kind to her. It was just completely impossible to be rude to him.
Lurking deep in her mind though was something she didn't know exsisted. It was the place of her dark memories and sounds of things breaking. They had just started surfacing now but as her remembering was probably worse then anything Akito could do one could only hope her memories would stay hidden and safe.

Hatori looked away and hoped she could not see the expression in his eyes. "It's been rather dull lately, nothing too terrible though. Everything's okay around here, but, nothing interesting has come up." He finally worked up the nerve to peer back over to her.
His heart felt like it had fallen into the darkest part of him. He felt pain that he had supressed for a while now, but, he found himself fighting to keep it hidden. Grey-ish-black eyes filled with the pain and sorrows of heartbreak appeared again and this time Hatori had not had time to catch himself, but, nevertheless, he turned his head once again to the sky.

Kana frowned having just been able to catch Hatori's look. Stepping foward she was only inches away from him Reaching a hand up she slowly put her hand onthe highest place on Hatori's arm that she could reach.
Looking away since she knew this was wrong Kana said. "I...don't be upset. If you want me to leace Sohma-san I will. I know I'm not supposed to be here. But this place just seemed so........familiar. I know that sounds crazy but it does."
Frowning now Kana brought her free hand up to her head as some pain struck her head. At the same time she could hear the breaking sound again. This time though it was much louder. It was like the sound was only feet away.
"P-Please don't be upset." she stammered hoping to calm herself now before Hatori could see. But it was obvious in her voice that something had happened.

Hatori looked at Kana, "Is something wrong, Kana-san?" His face had a look of worry in it, as a doctor he noticed every little detail in a person's actions.
He felt wrong for this, he felt like he had drawn her closer and now his only fear was that she'd be in trouble for coming back to the "inside" Sohma Estate. He didn't care if he got into trouble, he just didn't want Kana in trouble for her questions. Innocent curiosity was all they were and now that Hatori wa sure she was seeing bits and pieces of the day Akito got angry at them (him... or her... he was not sure). In a way, it frightened him.

Not moving from her position Kana shook her head. "I'm...I'm fine." she said slowly. But as she said it even she could hear the bare faced lie in her words.
So, after a moment she spoke again. "I...Ijust heard that sound again. that breaking...and it sounded louder. But I know it must just be in my head. So, don't worry all right Sohma-san. I'm sure it's nothing. After all everyone probably has this happen to them at some point right?"
Smiling Kana wasn't soo sure if she was trying to convince herself of this or convince Hatori. perhaps it was a bit of both. Either way she was feeling uneasy.
Still her strongest feeling was not to upset Hatori. For Kana that would have like a sin. And she couldn't take that.

After a long silence, Hatori looked at her and replied half-heartedly, "Alright, Kana-san."
He stared at her and smiled faintly. This was a moment looking up for him, but, at the same time, it was destroying him slowly. His happiness obliterated the fear within his gut. Hatori smiled a genuine smile for reassurance to his statement, more to convince himself than her.

Kana nodded and slowly stepped back from Hatori. Seeing hims smile she smiled back. However she didn't look too reassured. Sohmehow she knew something was still wrong. But she didn't dare try and figure it out since she had caused so much pain already.
Still though she wasn't able to leave this problem alone. Despite having causing pain she just had to say. "You...you can trust me Sohma-san. I know we don't know each other well but I think I want to be someone you can trust. And I want to try my best. So, you can trust me to keep a secret or hear your worries. And I promise I'll listen and not turn away."

Now this time, Hatori almost broke. The look in his face turned distant and he looked away, "This is beyond the help of others. Thanks for the offer..."
Hatori felt a silent, cold tear streak his face, but, with his face turned away he hoped that she could not see it, even as it fell to the wooden floor. "I know I can trust you though, Kana-san, but, this I must handle alone." He said, in attempt to hide the pain, but, it only grew. He knew very well that he could not handle this pain alone and therefore, he changed the subject, "How has your life been so far, hm?"

Kana frowned. She had not seen the tear drop from his eye but she could hear something in his voice. But why bothered her. There was no reason why she would be able to tell how someone felt. She wasn't too intuitive and this was not covered by a 'woman's intuition.' There was something more to this.
"You should never handle problems alone though." she said softly looking sad herself. "That will just make life so very hard. So, even if you can't trust me I understand, juat please find someone who you can trust and tell them. Otherwise everything will always hurt. And even if telling hurts the first time it's good pain."
Kana tried to smiled at this and managed a weak one. Hearing his question she decided to answer it. "It's been good. It's been happy."
Yes, she had purposefully not mentioned she was now married. Somehow she felt that would have just made things worse. And that was something she was trying her very best to avoid.

Hatori stepped to the edge of the porch and sat down on it, he stared at the sky and watched as a few snowflakes drifted from the heavenly sky. Letting out a heavy sigh, and adding his heavy heart, he felt another tear free itself from being held back, this one sliding down his cheek and brightening the streaks against the pale cheek.
"It's good to know you're happy." He said sincerely, "As for my problem. It's much too difficult for me to speak of." At this, he smiled a weak, fake looking smile, "I trust you, Kana-san, more than you know. However, this is one of those things I'm not sure I could explain openly."

Seeing the tear fall this time Kana frowned.
"I trust what you say Sohm-san. And you don't have to try and explain anything to me. I know there are things that I can't be allowed to know. But, please, at least promise me you'll try and talkw ith someone else who can listen."
With that she looked up to the sky and watched as the snow felt. "If you do talk with someone I know your spring will come soon Sohma-san. No matter what the weather isoutsideor what people thing if you share your feelings I know that your spirng will come. And I'm sure it will be very happy for you too."
Smiling now Kana stepped closer and carefully settled herself down on the porch so she wouldn't get snowed on. "And if you try a little harder to smile the sun will surely appear and you'll surely know when you're spring arrives."
Nodding Kana wasn't sure why she said what she did but it seemed fitting somehow.

Ooc:// Ack, nevermind that.
Bic:// Hatori had always like how she could speak of emotions like the seasons. Winter - being cold and seemingly endless. Spring - being joyful and cheery. All these emotions were hidden inside and no way to let them out. Surely he could speak to Ayame or Shigure, but, they'd probably have some strange comeback. Then again, he couldn't forget that Shigure had helped him with keeping Akito back when he could not stand up to protect Kana, way back when, so maybe he could talk to Shigure and maybe just maybe a forbidden-to-open heart could finally open up. If not, he would probably drown himself in the sorrows that were burdening him.
