Kureno had been surprised that Aya had the audacity to say such a thing but still he said nothing for he still felt that by butting in things woud only become worse. Still though things weren't great as it was.
Kureno could see that Aya had been hurt by Akito's previous words. And while there was no reason that shouldn't be so Kureno still feared that just maybe what Aya felt would get the better of him somehow.
Certainly, to him, that seemed to have just happened as Aya had seemed to leave himself wide open to a verbal lashing because of his last remark. But if that was because Aya felt hurt and wanted to make sure he was in Akito's 'good graces.' or if there was some other reason Kureno couldn't, and wouldn't, say.

The corners of Ayame's mouth twitched ever so slightly. "Hmmm...I suppose just the wishful thinking of a snake's mind?" He said. Though it had been phrased as a question, Ayame knew that Akito would pick up that it wasn't. He supposed this was his just reward, though, for saying something so bold outright to Akito. And, she certainly hadn't produced the reaction he'd been anticipating. Which, he had to say, made him a bit releived.

Ooc//: I am SO sorry that I haven't been on lately. My Grandmother fell ill, and I haven't had any time to get on the computer. She's fine-ish now, so I'll be on a more often.
BiC//: "Well, Ayame-kun, you may leave, and take your fooliish hopes with you." She turned away from him, digust seeping in to her previously solid features. Yes, she was mildly angry, but he had had guts, or was simply as stupid as Akito perceived. Perhaps the snake might be cunning, but he was, undoubtedly, stupid.

Ayame nodded. "Hai, Akito-san." He responded. He then stood. "I'll go now." That was pretty much obvious, as he was now making his way towards the door. As he reached it, he turned and bowed, before exiting, and closing the sliding door gracefully behind him as he did so.
Now in the hall outside Akito's chambers, he grimaced--something he didn't do often. 'Now, that went well.' He thought with sarcasm. 'If Kureno-kun hadn't been there, I'm sure I wouldn't be in such good shape.' He absently brushed his long silver hair over his right shoulder, and began to braid it--an action which took almost no thought, as it had become habit. He made his way in no direction in particular, too occupied by his thoughts to bother about where he was going.

((I'm glad that your grandmother is feeling better-ish now. ^^ And of course I'm glad you'll be on more now.))
Kureno sighed gently and turned to Akito. There was no saying what she might ask for now that they were alone. And that meant he had to be ready for anything.
Now though that Ayame had left Kureno felt that perhaps things were safer. He knew that Akito might say something bad about the snake but he hoped that it was all it came out to.
"Ayame-san, really should know better then to act like that." he said softly speaking a total truth. After all Ayame really should have known better then to ask such things and say such things with Akito. Sure maybe they hadn't seen much of each other but Kureno thought that, that shouldn't have made a difference. After all Ayame wasn't a child and he had a lifetime of expereince on how Akito at leas treated others. So for him to act in an innappropriate way was just wrong and had no excuse really. Or, that was how Kureno felt anyway.

"Yes, perhaps...." Her voice trailed off, as she wasn't paying much attention to Kureno, more to the questions about Ayame running through her head. She gazed idly up at the ceiling, seeming lost in her own thoughts, when a question slipped past her lips. "Kureno-kun, do you think Isuzu will be okay? Have I been neglecting her?"

Kureno was rather surprised. He hadn't been expecting her to ask a question about Isuzu. In fact Kureno would have thought, perhaps a bit hopefully, that the horse was the last thing on Akito's mind.
For a moment Kureno didn't answer as he thought about Akito's question. Really he wasn't sure of how to answer it. After all he knew what Akito thought of Rin. And so for Akito to neglect Rin could mean something totally different then what one would usually expect.
Because of that Kureno decided to be careful. "I really couldn't say. I suppose you have given her a good amount of freedom but I'm not sure that would be neglect."

She considered this for a moment... Perhaps he was right, I have given the horse freedom, but then this... outburst of Isuzu's, wouldn't that be the product of neglect? Wouldn't the way she was conspiring against me be the effect of me not paying attention to her? Is this how my family rewards me for letting them have thier so called 'freedom'?! Of course, the anger she had worked herself into spilled over a bit onto her features, but the only way she expressed her anger -not only at herself, but at her family- was a long sigh and tightly clenched fists.
Yes, Akito was having a tantrum, but for once, a silent one.
