Tohru looked away, her eyes pointed towards the ground. His words brought a new swell of emotion in her chest, bringing forward something she was working so hard to remain emotionless on until a time when she could be alone without having to bother anyone.
She took in a breath and turned back to Yuki, arranging a smile on her face. "I know that," she said, tilting her head.

Yuki looked up, surprised. He tried to cover up his embarrassment. Had he said that last line out loud? He had no idea Tohru was blaming herself! He turned towards her and set his hand down in front of her, leaning forward for emphasis. "...It really isn't, Honda-san! You have no idea how helpful you've been for all of us, and---" he stopped. Tohru probably didn't want to or need to talk about this, did she? No, she probably didn't. Now was not the time! Yuki slowly settled back into seiza, playing with his drink. He tried to change the subject slightly. "It's important to realize that this is entirely Hatori's fault for letting him come to school in the first place." Yuki's joke was tastless, he knew. He regretted it nearly immediately. He smiled awkwardly for a moment then fell back into subdued silence.
I can't believe how bad I am at cheering people up. It's embarrassing!
((How late do you stay up, woman?! I've got to get up in 6 hours, I'm goin' to sleep! Don't die while I'm gone, Akito, or I'll kill you myself.))

[ AHAH. I'm so nocturnal. ]
Tohru smiled, happy Yuki cared so much, which brightened her spirits a little. As much as she didn't want to burden him, she couldn't help but say softly, "But you weren't there. I..." she trailed off, glancing at Akito. "You're right, though. Akito needs our full attention." She stood up determinedly. "So I'm going to do everything I can to make him healthy again. ...Akito? Do you need anything?" she asked, wondering if this sudden impulsive act was her own way of covering up her shame and embarrassment.

He looked up at the two teens conversing casually at his deathbed. Alright, it was personally, but they were still ignoring the hell out of him.
He pulled a pale arm over his chest, taking his drink from the little table by the futon. He lifted it to his pink lips, taking a long drink, eyes closing in indulgence. Soon after he managed o place the bowl back, his lidded eyes re-opening. They were still cold, but had lost their anger. Now, if you were to get lost in those icy, grey eyes, you would find pain, and even trickles of remorse.
When Tohru first spoke to him he hadn't heard, but after a moment it actually processed that she was speaking to him, not the rat. "No, I'm fine" He spoke, his voice not nearly as hoarse as before, but tainted with pain. He winced lightly, as his stomach lurched. The true pain of this entire thing was returning, which means the head was slipping farther into death again.

(Wow, I go out for one night and a whole bunch of things happen. 0.o Well, I won't do that again. ^_^)
A pair of dark eyes slowly opened, a lanky form slowly eased it's way into an upright position. White bangs drifted before those saddened dark eyes and soon a hand came up to brush those pesky bangs away.
Hatsuharu looked somewhat pale and as he sat there it was evident that he was still very weak. He peered around the room, half-dazed, and saw who was there and who was not. He saw Yuki, then Tohru, and finally, Akito. He looked around the floor and noticed the tray of tea nearby, he didn't dare reach for it, knowing very well that he'd drop it. He looked at his bandaged hand and noticed that it was no longer hurting, then he realized how much everyone else must have been hurting and he looked at Akito again, as if making sure Akito was alive, but, he knew something was going on. He finally managed to force words out of his mouth.
"Is everyone okay for the moment?" Were the words the young teenager spoke. A questioning look was soon replaced with his worried-about-everyone-but-himself look and he stared around, noticing he was no longer at school. This was home, but, how late was it? How long had he been out for? Why didn't he force himself to stay awake? Why didn't he take notice that he wasn't the only one in pain? How come he didn't remain awake long enough o get Akito back to the main house as he was asked?
He must've put his mind into over-work because he suddenly stood up, "I'm going to get some fresh air." He said and abruptly walked out of the room and outside before anyone could stop him.

Yuki looked over and smiled at Haru, "Glad that you're awake now, Haru." Fresh air was a good idea. It was a very good idea, but Yuki had already been rude by chatting away while the patient was awake. He wasn't about to walk away from the bedside and leave Tohru alone.
"Akito," Yuki turned back to the pale and sickly teen. He spoke clearly and slowly, to make sure that the dying one understood, "Akito, try to get some sleep. You must be feeling tired, and sleeping is a good idea." At least then you can relax, Akito, "I'm not going anywhere, it's okay to rest."

The pale teen nodded, dark hair falling into his grey eyes. He felt weak, he felt like dying. There was no use in him leaving, no purpose for his meek existance. They were terrible thoughts to sleep on, but he'd thought worse. Those pained grey eyes slowly closed, and his face relaxed. His breathing calmed, and his I.V. was still, miraculously, inserted in his arm.
(I must leave for a while, until tonight. Falling asleep is gona save my ass. Oh, when I sign on again, I'll die.)

[ *tear* OH POOR AKITO I DON'T WANT HIM TO DIEEEE! ]
Tohru turned around to smile at Haru. "Did you have a nice sleep?" she asked, pretending like he had actually chosen to fell into slumber rather than pass out.

(Yeah, Akito can't die! =\)
Before Haru made it out of the room, he heard them speak to him. He stopped and looked back at them with the same kind eyes he used to have, but, sadness still trickling through them.
"Thanks.. Yuki, you haven't answer my question." He said quietly, then turning his head to Tohru he replied, "You haven't either, Tohru."
Hatsuharu was not going to speak of himself now, to make up for his own selfishness. He would answer their questions after they answered his. He waited for a second and then answered, "Oh-, I did, I guess." He replied to Tohru then looked at Yuki, "Thanks, Yuki."
He felt strange standing there, he didn't know exactly why, but, everything was terribly confusing for him at the moment.

Tohru tilted her head at him. "I'm fine," she said, smiling a little. "Thanks for asking though!"

Hatsuharu nodded and then looked around again, his own condition was doing better than before, but, he was still weak from being unconscious for such a long time. He didn't wait much longer for any other words to be said and disappeared, opening the door to the main house and stepping outside. The fresh air made him much more relaxed, his mind still relaying everything that happened before he passed out. He feared the worst would happen, but, prepared himself not to show exactly how much pain he was in. He stood on the stairs (I do believe there were stairs, I forgot again ^_^; and stared up at the sky. He then looked down at his hand and upwrapped the bandage from around it, surveying the wound once again. He decided not to recover the wound up, and let the bandage fall to the ground at his foot.

Yuki smiled at Haru's question. Of course he was fine! He was more concerned for the bipolar cousin walking outside. For now Yuki was content to remain in seiza, watching over the sick patien before him.
((Bah, Akito dying does so much for me. I've always wanted that jerk to get what's coming to him. This meloncholy, repentant death makes an excellent story. I really enjoy it. It's true, it's sad that Akito dies---don't get me wrong, I dont want him to die---but an Akito that lives after giving that kind of authority to Tohru? The world would sooner come to an end! Well...maybe not. That's what these sites are for.))

Momiji had changed out of his school uniform last minute. It occurred to him that Akito might not approve of the Rabbit wearing a girl's uniform, and the last thing he wanted was a fight with the head of the Sohma house. He'd changed into simple blue shorts and a faded green t-shirt. Muted colors to suit the muted atmosphere.
After a headlong sprint down the outside corrider, he skidded to a halt in front of the door, nearly crashing into Haru. Actually, since he was wearing socks, he managed a successful slide for several feet and wound up beyond the desired portal. After dashing back and grabbing hold of the door frame he stopped to catch his breath. His face was a picture of concern. He was sweating slightly, and it didn't seem to just be from the running. He'd been in pain along with the others, it was obvious to see. It didn't keep him from talking, although after noticing Akito was asleep he kept his voice down as he spoke, "Kisa and I felt weird earlier, and we thought something might be wrong. A few quick calls to the other Jyunishi and a conversation of Hatori told us we were right. Is he..." Momiji padded into the room silently and dropped his voice, "he really is, isn't he? When Hatori told me I didn't want to believe it but...it must be true."
Momiji stood next to Tohru for a while, looking at Akito. His eyes were unreadble and blank. After a moment he blinked and spoke in a slightly choked voice, "I'll go get Kisa." He dashed back out of the room and down the hall.

Tohru's heart broke for Momiji. She had never seen such sadness and pain in his eyes before, not like that. She wrapped her arms around herself, hating the stench of death and sickness in the air. She hated seeing the needle running into Akito's pale flesh.
Her throat tightened, making it harder for her to swallow. She managed, lowering her eyes from Akito's sleeping form to the floor past her knees.

((Just remember, this is a side roleplay. I'll still be here torturing you to no end. ))
The young teen began to stir, first his face starting lightly clenching in pain, then his eyes flew open. They were full of terrible pain, it was tearing him apart, piece by piece. He curled his body into a ball, resisting the urge to start screaming, instead replaced the urge with loud whimpers. Ge clenched his jaw, teeth grinding heavily. The cold eyes filled with threatening tears, but his resistance and pain tolerance were extremely high-tuned. He was dying, but his death wouldn't pass painlessly. ((Not Dead yet, I've still got two weird words to speak to Yuki))
