Hey, I'm back! So sorry for the extended absence, but hopefully this news will make people understand and forgive. Here entails the last few weeks of my life:
My job is being fantastic! For the first time in my life I look forward to the days where I get to work double time (6.5 hours instead of a little over 3 hours a day) because it's just so much fun. I work in the theater department of BYU, so all the sets, backdrops, and props are under our jurisdiction. I'm currently focused on props. Angels Unaware, the play we just finished creating yesterday, is going to be a lot of fun to see. The chess set, banner, shields, and pretty much everything else was created by me. The banner in particular: the images were created and painted on by yours truly. I couldn't believe how cool it looks.
My major is too much fun for words, although it's eating up my hours. Working on the stupid portfolio for applying is really difficult, but the images I'm coming up with are turning out pretty good. If you want, once I have the entire portfolio ready to go I'll scan the images in and y'all can see what I've been cramping my hands out for.
Midterms were awful. But this is not the point.
I decided earlier this year to participate in a Japanese Speech Contest. It was a lot of fun, but also a great deal of work. I had to learn enough Japanese to memorize and retell a famous Japanese folklore. The story I chose was "Ikkyuu and the Tiger in the Paper Screen." I told the story, and guess what? I got first place! I'm so excited! That means I'll be going to state to represent BYU later this month.
And now testing is over, my portfolio is being finished up, and I'm happy as a clam and back in action.
Is this place still lively?
