"Ah, one day won't matter. Haa-san is so far ahead I highly doubt it will have any effect. We'll just make up some kind of excuse and all will be well."
Shigure continued to write notes in notepad. One might start to wonder what kinds of things he was putting down on that paper.

She was waiting. That much was obvious from just looking at her. Sitting on a bench, the odd shadows cast by an afternoon sun though the trees playing across her form and the ground before her. Her small feet, clad in once clean dress shoes, brushed across the ground before her as she sighed, glancing around her once more. How long until they got home? The girl would wait for them, Aaya-nii, Tori-nii, and Gure-nii. Small hands wrapped in the soft creases of her skirt, trimmed with a dark lace around the hem, end of the long sleeves, and the crisp collar that reached out to the barest tips of her shoulders. Isuzu Sohma, known as Rin, to most, looked at the main entrance to the “inside” of the Sohma Estates. Time was passing too slowly it seemed, for the somewhat impatient child, though in all honesty, she could not have been more than seven or eight. Long dark hair fell, at perhaps it’s longest, to the bottom of her rib cage, though heavy bangs framed her face. It was an open face, if pale, soft and round still with youth. Two large dark eyes were easily her most captivating feature, still lively and bright, though at the moment, slightly dulled with the boredom of waiting for the boys to return from school. How long did high school take, anyway? Rin’s childish ideas of how horrible the place could be were only reaffirmed by this. However, she could see them coming, silver and black hair shining in the afternoon sun, and, for some reason, Kureno-nii was with them. She really didn’t know him as well, but she was happy to see the other three. She stood, not bothering to smooth out her skirts and ran over to them, smiling. “Gure-nii, Aaya-nii, Tori-nii! You’re finally back. I’ve been waiting for forever.” And it had certainly felt like it. After all, when you’re hardly even ten, half an hour can seem like an eon.

Hatori looked at Kureno, "I'll just say that I was taken out of school for illness. So, they'll believe me. I hope..." He said to Kureno, "I can afford to miss a day."
He nodded at Rin and said a soft, "Hello."

((Awww! I just love chibi-Rin. XD So kawaii!))
As Rin approched, Ayame bent down a bit to greet her. "Hello, Rin-chan." He said with a kind smile. "I'm sorry we took so long today." He gestured to Hatori, while still wearing that sweet smile. "It was all Tori-san's fault." He stated.

(I know; you just wanna hug her!)
The girl laughed, looking up at him. "Really? Aaya- nii, you're not teasing me, are you?" So skeptical for one so young, but she had grown up around the older cousin enough to know he had the air of a trickster. "What did Tori-nii do that made you so late, anyway?" She tilted her head slightly, in a quizzical fashion. Despite her earlier question, it was too obvious that she admired the older boys, often believing their teasing. "And Kureno-nii is with you."

Hatori glared at Ayame and then growled, "It was not my fault we were late, Mr. RunawayConvict." He snapped bitterly. He looked at Rin, "Don't listen to him, he's joking."

Ayame nodded, trying to look as serious as possible for the little girl. "Of course, Rin-chan! Tori-san made us late because he wouldn't be a seahorse! Would I tease you?" He then grinned, totally aware that he was contradicting everything Hatori had just said. "Yes, Kureno-kun is here! Apparently, it is his day off, so he is visiting with us!"
((Awww...I gotta get off for now. At least, until my parents go to bed. Then I can get back on. ^-^ So, until then...See you! -Cries at having to leave chibi-Rin-))

((Agreed, chibi Rin, soooo cute!!!))
"Good to see you Rin-chan," chimed in with the other two. (this should have been posted earlier, oh well)
"Well, you know that Aya and I would never be found around the school after hours so of course who else would make us late. All the time spent on Haa-san kept us there."

(It's okay. They're attempting to pry me off too. Not yet! Ack, poor Rin. She has no idea what's going on.)
Rin looked between the two, eyes still filled with an adorable suspicion. After a moment, she seemed to side with the more sensible of the two. "Aaya-nii, you are teasing me," she said, and added, "Why would Tori-nii need to turn into a seahorse, anyway? It's give up the secret." Apparently not understanding the last of Hatori's statement to Aaya, she chose not to ask. Still, she replied to the sea horse, "I know. He always does, anyway. "But, Gure-nii...what about the sea horse thing?"

((Poor Tori getting blamed again))
Kureno smiled and nodded at Hatori before he looked to Rin. Besides Ritsu and perhaps Kagura she was one of the people closer to his age. There was close to a ten year difference but that was hardly the point for no matter the age Kureno was still glad to see her.
Sure, he didn't know Rin that well but at sixteen he did appreciate her innocence. "It's nice to see you Rin-chan." he said smiling. "It's been a while. Have things been going well for you?"
For a long while he had been quiet but that was because he had been listening to the conversation going on. And needless to say he had gotten a little lost in it.

Hatori straightened himself and glared at Shigure too, "You both need to stop lying." He muttered rather coldly. He looked around and then looked towards the sky.

Rin blinked up at the older boy, and smiled. "Yup," she replied. Things were going well in her life, you see. Though much of her time was divided between school and her parents, Mama and Papa worked hard to make time for her. Things were happy. "I got out of school a little bit ago, though." So, she'd barely had time to do anything with the day yet. "Did you go to see everyone at the high school? 'Cause Aaya-nii told me you had a day off....Unless he was playing with me again."

Shigure's voice reached it's familiar whiny pitch, "How can Haa-san accuse us of lying. It seems like everyone likes to turn against Aya and me."
Although it was obvious that Shigure was greatly exaggerating in the drama field, he still had a way of gaining people's pity and winning people to his side. It's a skill that he's really developed. The person least resistant to it would be of course Hatori.

"Aya-nii wasn't lying to you." Kureno said smiling.Obviouslyhe was good withhis younger family even if they weren't around much. "My sensei really did get sick today so I was off. And I did go visit Aya-san, Shigure-kun and Hatori-san at there Highschool. ir was really pretty cool."
Kureno smiled glad that he had been able to experience what a school was like. It made him feel more at home with the others, especially these four, since they weren't homse schooled like he was.
"And, I'm glad you had a good day."

(Gah! My time is up for the night. Blame the 6:00 wake up time. Sorry, guys. Promise to be on early tomorrow afternoon, though!)
Rin cast Kureno another smile. "Thank you, Kureno-nii." Though she wasn't as close to him as she'd been to the otehrs, she still liked him, and he was nice. Though, to a seven year old, most people are. Especially if they're accepted by the three people who you think are just the coolest. Ever. Rin giggled at the boys, over dramatics, saying, "Gure-nii, you're so weird, sometimes."
